Coach Marvin Lewis has said repeatedly that the offense needs to have more big plays this season, the kind they thought Ross would provide when they took him with the ninth overall pick in the draft.Ross ran a record time of 4.22 seconds in the 40-yard dash at the NFL combine, and the Bengals envisioned him providing another deep threat to A.J. Green. Instead, Ross barely got on the field. He’s been healthy and making a good impression.”I’ve kind of showed that I can relax and play the game I’m used to playing,” Ross said. ”Mentally, that was the toughest challenge for me last year. Being hurt kind of messed with me throughout the whole year. When you’re beat mentally, I don’t think you can really be yourself.”Ross was still recovering from shoulder surgery when camp opened in 2017 and wasn’t cleared to practice at the outset. The team is also hiring Ben Martin, an offensive line coach from Bryant University. Casey is someone you may be familiar with, as he enjoyed a productive career with the Houston Texans from 2009-12, then with the Philadelphia Eagles from 2013-14. He ended his career following a one-year stint with the Denver Broncos in 2015. For his career Jessie Bates Jersey , Casey hauled in 72catches for 842yards and six scores. Since then, Casey has been the tight ends coach for the Cougars.As for Martin, he’s had coaching stints at Union (NY) College, Bryant University, and was even an offensive assistant with the Miami Dolphins from 2014-15, which means he coached briefly along Taylor when he was also in Miami. Martin spent the 2013 season as the offensive line/run game coordinator at Wagner College and the 2012 season as the running backs coach at Princeton University.
